OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND INDUSTRIAL SAFETY
Uztransgaz JSC ensures employee safety and the reliability of production processes at all stages of gas transportation infrastructure operation. The company applies a systematic approach to occupational health and safety risk management, focused on incident prevention and continuous improvement of practices.
Uztransgaz JSC:
- identifies hazards and manages professional and industrial risks at production facilities;
- organizes training, briefings, and knowledge assessments on occupational health and safety;
- provides employees with personal protective equipment and monitors its use;
- conducts scheduled inspections and diagnostics of equipment, monitors the safe performance of high-risk work;
- investigates incidents and potentially hazardous events (near-miss), implementing corrective and preventive measures;
- maintains emergency preparedness, conducts training, and interacts with relevant response services;
- extends safety requirements to contractors and monitors their compliance at the Company's sites.
In the field of occupational health and industrial safety Key objectives include injury prevention, accident and incident prevention, monitoring the technical condition of equipment, and emergency response readiness.
INTERACTION WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES
Uztransgaz JSC operates in all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and considers sustainable development in the regions where it operates an important element of social responsibility. The Company builds its interactions with local communities on the principles of openness, respect for citizens' rights, and consideration of the interests of the population when implementing gas transportation infrastructure projects.
During the construction, reconstruction, and operation of gas transportation system facilities, individual projects may affect the interests of local residents and land users. In these cases, the Company applies information, dialogue, and compensation procedures aimed at minimizing social impacts and preventing conflicts.
Uztransgaz JSC:
- informs local communities in advance about planned projects and work stages;
- conducts public discussions (public hearings) on land acquisition issues;
- ensures transparent damage assessments, taking into account direct and indirect losses, and provides compensation in accordance with established procedures;
- provides ongoing feedback channels (written and electronic inquiries, telephone inquiries, in-person receptions, and on-site meetings);
- facilitates the implementation of projects that improve social infrastructure and quality of life in the regions where it operates.
In 2024, Uztransgaz JSC, its structural divisions, and subsidiaries received 2,299 inquiries. As of the end of the reporting period, 1,917 requests had been approved, 356 requests were given explanations regarding the impossibility of providing assistance, and 26 requests remained pending.
As part of the implementation of gas transportation infrastructure construction projects in 2024, the Company made compensation payments to farm owners in the amount of 1,986 million soums to cover losses, including lost profits. The main work was carried out in the Tashkent and Bukhara regions.
As part of programs to improve social infrastructure and enhance the quality of life of the population, the Company supported the construction of a football field in the Kibla-Ustyurt mahalla in the Kungirat district. The project aims to organize leisure activities, improve health, and promote an active lifestyle among mahalla residents, particularly young people. As of the end of the reporting period, the facility was completed and commissioned.
